Cloud Developer

This is senior level position for a Cloud Developer.  This individual must be capable of performing analysis, design, implementation, testing, maintenance and support tasks with minimal supervision.  This position requires interaction with other group members and departments, and as such, requires excellent communication skills.  This position requires the ability to work independently, as well as in collaboration with others to implement solutions. 

  • Implement, test, maintain and support software, based on technical design and functional requirement specifications.
  • Prepare technical design specifications based on functional requirements and analysis documents.
  • Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback
  • Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
  • Assist other development staff.
  • Investigate software development tools.
  • Perform special assignments.
  • Participate in architecture and code reviews.
  • Lead or participate in other projects or duties. 
  • Occasional travel required.  (up to 5%)
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in software engineering 
  •  Advanced cloud-first analysis and design skills
  • Proficiency in cloud environments, preferably AWS
  • AWS experience with IAM and CLI preferred
  • Experience implementing cloud based systems
  • Experience with modern software concepts including containerization, service mesh, secret management and IAC.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps concepts/methodology and experience with CI/CD pipeline and tooling
  • Experience with iterative, incremental software development processes
  • Experience with complex software development projects using agile development planning and methods.  SAFe is a plus.
  • Experience with serverless design and construction
  • API first development approach
  • ANSI standard SQL proficiency
  • Understanding of database design and software to database interface programming ex: RDS / Athena
  • Experience with cloud performance analysis and tuning is desired ex: CloudWatch
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly analyze, organize, and abstract large amounts of information and to make decisions based on this analysis
  • Awareness of business issues as they impact overall project effort
  • Ability to influence and negotiate when faced with opposing views or resistance
  • Ability to apply professional concepts, experience and company objectives in order to perform an in-depth analysis of situations or data to resolve complex issues in creative ways 
  • Ability to work without supervision.  Wide latitude for independent decision making.
  • Ability to network with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
  • Ability to listen and understand information and communicate the same
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Must be results oriented and customer focused 
  • Demonstrated desire to identify and incorporate  emerging technology trends
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field; or equivalent combination of education/experience.
